SILVERING 1AZ Self-fluxing welding ANTIMONY, ZAMAK

It is specially designed for joining and reconstructing white metals such as antimony, zamak and aluminum, with no flux. In addition, it is recommended for filling holes and fixing fractures with a better resistance and hardness than the base metal. It leaves smooth and oxide/corrosion resistant pieces, pores free and with the same appearance and color of the base metal.

APPLICATIONS: Very useful on the navy industry, boat reconstruction, ships, airplanes, propellers, pieces fused over pressure, bombs, carburetors, aluminum rims, motorcycles, engines, frameworks, scythes, carpentry in aluminum, doors, windows, divisions, furniture, stairs, die, lids, clasps, shields, trophies, lamps, iron-works, etc.

OTHER APPLICATIONS: Excellent for repairing mistakes during the smelting process, filling holes, reconstructing damaged pieces. Ideal for filling holes with out any flux. FLUX AL 100 must be used, if you want to improve the fluidity, improving capillarity and humidity.

PROCEDURE: Clean, preheat the base metal, and rake the 1AZ welding over the base metal, until the aluminum oxide coat is removed and at the same time, start tinning with 1AZ the parts to join. To ensure a better result, rub over the liquid welding with a metallic brush.

When the parts are all tinned, overheat and join with more welding, this way we ensure more strength on the joint. For thick pieces, you must bevel (“V”) and proceed filling holes, letting solidify it.

For the Antimony and Zamak joints, keep the rod inside the flame and the tip of the gas welding torch, almost parallel to the piece; when the base metal reaches the required temperature keep the flame moving over the base metal and not over the welding.

Let the welding cool down slowly, and do not use water for this. Solder with a neutral flame. To increase the resistance on the joint, rasp and drill the surface, making it uneven.
